If the 7900 XT is cut down to ~ 10,240 cores I can see it being some 10% slower than the 4090 at 4K raster but releasing with a ~ 320 W TDP instead. 60% faster than the 6900 XT with those specs would match quite well with AMD's claimed RDNA3 gains.

(Remember that RDNA3 doubled FP32 units per CU like Ampere, so its efficiency per core should be more like 60% of that of the previous architecture. Which is why it won't be >2.5x faster than the 6900 XT despite double the shaders and higher clocks).
