souixan said: I'm looking at a few games that aren't coming out for Nintendo Wii. The Wii was a clear base choice for me as it has more games I'm seeking so end deal there. Now I have the wii, very happy with it by the way, but I find myself looking at a lack of jRPG's.(keep in mind I hate stuff like Fable etc) My current hope for my jRPG fix is Blue Dragon, Final Fantasy 13 and Fire Emblem(I realize it's rpg/strat.) Blue Dragon I'm wary on because it's done by a new studio(even if it is made by people in the business for a while)and well ... I haven't liked Final Fantasy much since #6, been all downhill in my sights, despite them being good games overall the quality in my eyes has been slipping. Given these facts I'm asking around what choice people think I should make. I'll probably own all 3 eventually, but I'm talking the here and now. Which do you think I should grab the 360 or the ps3? Just opinions please ^^; don't really need facts or people quoting me figures on how strong Cell is or how many polygons xbox 360 can process. I'm interested in which you guys think is the most fun and why, power means absolutely nothing to me. Sorry that was more long winded then I wanted it to be ^^;
Okay. Please note: I am a Xbox 360 owner. Please let me state that before I begin my RPG rant. Having said this, it really just depends on what you want in an RPG. The PS3 still has FFXIII and VS XIII, as well as most likely will get a few good hits from Namco, future songs from SE, ect. However, with it's poor asian preformance, I'd assume that a decent bit might end up going to the Wii or DS, as DS seems to be the platform of choice for many RPGs. Now, as a 360 owner, I'm rather happy with the state of JRPGs for the 360. Just check my post in the games section. The 360 won't have the best # of JRPGs, however Blue Dragon looks terrific, and has scored VERY well in both US and Japaneese magazines. I believe it scored near a 38-39 in Famitsu, and has a 88%+ on Gamerankings, which is very good for JRPGs. Having said that, the 360 seems to have a decent bit (although not as many) JRPGs. It does, however have some great niche ones like Culdicept Saga, Circle of Doom (must have for any JRPG lover), Enchant Arms and Magna Carta are all smaller titles by JRPG and KRPG companies. Mistwaker is an awesome studio, and is backed by MS, so we should expect to see alot of great RPGs coming from them. Again, not in the amount of titles that the DS or PS3 should see, but it's a considerably higher # than the Xbox had. Plus we have Eternal Sonata and Infinite Undiscovery that are great wildcards, as they look like very strong JRPGs that will come to the US. However, if you like Western RPGs at all, the 360 has a HUGE lead over both, even combined. The 360 IS the home of the western RPG on consoles. With Sacred coming over to 360, it now has Oblivion, Sacred, Fallout 3, Two Worlds, Mass Effect and a few others that look to be great RPGs for the 360. Heck, Fallout 3 and Oblivion are just worth the price of admission. Not everyone likes W-RPGs, but they can be very good at times. So again, it's going to be really hard to pick a console for the home of the JRPG as it seems fractured now, with DS getting the lions share, and everything else getting the scraps. But again, I am a HUGE mistwaker fan, as they've seem to taken S-Es momentum. I haven't seen a JRPG I'm excited for as much as Blue Dragon in awhile.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
