Not content with trying to genocide Ukraine, Putin is deciding to genocide certain ethnicities of Russia too.

Going to destroy Russia in an attempt to destroy Ukraine and nobody is stopping him.

Hopefully Ukraine receives ATACMS soon, all Russia has against the West is empty threats.

He likely knows that these Russians are unlikely to change much long-term unless Russia suddenly fixes its training, leadership, logistics, morale, equipment, etc. But he's trying to drag the war out in the hope that the West relents in their aid to Ukraine but also a good opportunity for him to get rid of ethnicities he doesn't like, complete scumbag.

What I wonder is the unintended consequence. If these ethnic republics round up men of fighting age an equip them for war, these men could theoretically choose to mutiny whilst in their home republics against Russia and try to separate from Russia. A lot of these republics are headed by Russian loyalist but usually ones from the local republic (like Chechnya) so its not unthinkable (even if the Chechnya example is unlikely).
