Although it could also be the announcement date since it's kind of odd to give people the release date before the announcement date. AMD seems to be a bit of a troll these past weeks, launching their CPUs when Intel will announce theirs and now announcing the launch of its GPUs when Nvidia will reveal theirs.
The first one may work, but this one certainly won't.
