Like Majima, Daigo, Taiga, Akiyama, etc? Would seem a bit OP compared to Ichiban's team, but I'd like to see Kaoru Sayama in Kiryu's team at least.
They did say Like A Dragon 8 will have an RPG system again. Yakuza Will Use Whatever System Serves Its Story Even if It Means 'Making a Party Game' (ign.com)
They've always been called Ryu Ga Gotoku in Japan which translates to Like A Dragon. But for the 7th game in Japan I saw them call it Ryu Ga Gotoku 7: Yakuza in promotional footage. But that seems to have changed for the release of the game, and the word Yakuza is no longer seen. It seems the next title will be named Like A Dragon 8 in the west. So it won't become a FF situation where FF3 in the west was FF6 in Japan. The ppl who were newcomers to Like A Dragon are probably mostly aware by now that there were several previous Yakuza games, so the 8 shouldn't be too confusing. |
And in FF case it should have been even less confusing since well there is no tie between the games, but they just wanted to avoid people thinking they would be entering to late on the franchise and wouldn't understand it, etc. But it was a different time and harder to get more info.
