'Aimlessly shooting' It's called cover fire and I would assume it is common practice while closing in onto something which can be used as cover.
'They all survived because the car wasn't a trap' Trapping and already destroyed vehicle isn't likely, so I would assume here that you were referring to the possibility of it being an ambush. The video doesn't give much info has to what they did prior to recording but your assumption is that they operated with 0 hindsight which isn't likely. For all we know they could literally have made sure the woods were clear prior to engaging with the target. Also context might be key here, if it's an area the Russian fled recently than it's unlikely that troops remains to ambush as it would literally be suicidal. Lastly you have to assume that what forced the vehicle off the road and to overturn is more than likely to be something of Ukrainian origin, probably this very same group of people. So their prior knowledge onto the vehicle and it's context might have been more than enough to know that it wasn't a trap.
