It's a PC and a handheld. "Handheld" describes the formfactor, just like "desktop", "laptop" or "tablet". Or like "home consoles" and "handheld consoles".
Please show us the Steam machine which was sold by Valve. They haven't sold that. But they sold Steam Link (still supported), Valve Index (still supported), Steam controllers (still supported) and Index controllers (still supported). Every new Steam game can still be mirrored to Steam link hardware (additional to Steeam Link software solutions). |

Oh, the denial doesn't come from where your favorite games comes from, Nintendo also produces some of my favorite games, that's not the question The denial comes from where you imply Switch sells better because it has better software, therefore doesn't matter how good Steam Deck is specs-wise, people will overlook it because Switch software is superior When in reality the majority of Switch software is on Steam Deck as well. Steam Deck library is superior to any console, Nintendo included Steam Deck will never sell as much as a console, because it's a PC. Some products inherently have more sales than others, in the case of PCs the entry bareer in the market is non existent, any electronic company can start producing PCs and sell them. PCs sells much more than consoles indeed, just like smartphones sells much better than consoles. But the numbers of models and options reduces the sales potential of each model. |
Any manufacturer could make a PC but probably wouldn't because of profits. Same like consoles. For generations Sony and MS have been undercutting their hardware just in hopes it outperforms. It worked during PS1/2/3 era but shit ain't the same anymore. Hell with the global chip shortage it makes Nintendo look like god damn geniuses going for older tech. Now you graphics whores might not like that but there will always be a job at EA for you.
