It would have been awesome if they had added native support for those aspect ratios, not just let you force them .

But who knows, it's likely a quicker, cheaper and easier way to do it and, depending on how many people use it, they may add the proper support for them in a future update.

But.....there was native support for those aspect ratios at launch lol. That was part of the marketing campaign for the PC release.

This was from the PlayStation Blog at release. “We initially planned support for 21:9, and after some internal tests we decided to go even wider and add support for 32:9 screens and 48:9 for triple monitor setups. The game lends itself very well for that. Swinging through the streets of Marvel’s New York on an ultra-wide screen gives a whole different and more immersive feeling.”

Doesn't give aspect ratio info in the trailer, but at 0:32 it shows the support which definitely looks 32:9

I don't know what to say. If the game already supports those aspect ratios, I don't know why they've added an option to force them... unless, after reading the text of the update again, this is to allow their use on monitor with different aspect ratios, like using the 21:9 on a regular 16:9 monitor/TV.

But I don't see why would anyone play like that, to be honest.
