I'd much rather it was a turn-based RPG than action RPG. You could take a half-step a la Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi where you need to react enemy, but the real-time battles with limited control over Donald and Goofy was always so frustrating to me. No matter how you set the AI in the original game they never seem to do what you want. I'd rather just have full control over them.
