Well for me, there is always the third option... Which is to sail the 7 seas looking for buried treasure stolen by the evil Tim Sweeney on EGS island.
Personally I always buy my games these days as I have a well paying job but it's out of principle that I won't bother with touching EGS similar to how I boycott anything that's on Uplay. Once the game comes on Steam and goes on a sale, that's when I will buy it.
