AMD Moves Ryzen 7000 “Zen 4” CPU Launch To 27th September, Same Day As Intel’s 13th Gen Raptor Lake Unveil

https://wccftech.com/amd-moves-ryzen-7000-zen-4-cpu-launch-to-27th-september-same-day-as-intels-13th-gen-raptor-lake-unveil/

Sounds like AMD wants to crash Intels party

I'm not a fan of this behavior because, to me, there are only two kinds of people that do something like that: a bully that wants to ruin the fun of anyone; or a coward that's scared of what the other one will show and tries to hide it from everybody. And neither option makes, in this case, AMD look good.

Plus, it's a mostly useless move. The reviews will already be up, and the discussion will have taken place. Yes, this may do some damage in places like Reddit or other forums, but the news feed will still talk about Intel and its new stuff.

MSI MPG X670E Carbon WiFi Motherboard Listed Online For Over 550 Euros, PRO X670-P WiFi For Over 350 Euros

Looks like Zen 4 motherboards are even more expensive than I thought they would be. And with none of the mobo vendors doing PCI-E Gen 5 for GPU with X670, you will need to spend the big bucks for X670E if you want a truly long term platform or wait until they eventually release X670 mobo with PCI-E Gen 5 for GPU. Personally, I'd just wait for Zen 4 X3D. That way, you get the X670 with PCI-E Gen 5 for GPU + get a meaningful performance uplift for all the money you are spending.

It could be a placeholders, like last week's CPU pricing in that canadian store.

Intel Arc GPUs Don’t Feature Native DX9 Support, Has To Be Emulated on DX12

https://wccftech.com/intel-arc-gpus-dont-feature-native-dx9-support-has-to-be-emulated-on-dx12/

Arc can't catch a break

Not only are they admiting that they won't evern try, which is never a good thing, but they just go and simply point to MSoft for any fault gamers may find while playing a DX9 game on an ARC card.

Not cool.

A new Middle-earth game is in development by the studio behind the visual effects of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy
https://www.pcgamer.com/a-new-middle-earth-game-is-in-development-by-the-studio-behind-the-visual-effects-of-peter-jacksons-lord-of-the-rings-trilogy/
Take Two's publishing label Private Division has announced it is working with Wētā Workshop, the production company that created the special effects in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, on a new game "set in the Middle-earth universe of J.R.R Tolkien." The game, which will be based upon the "literary works of the series", is currently in early development, and is expected to launch during Take Two's fiscal year 2024, although a specific release date has understandably not been announced.
>> Two thoughts: it's in early development but will launch in less than 3 years? It doesn't look like an AAA game (not that this is bad, of course). Also, does Weta have any experience in game development?

Not sure, but Unity did acquire them recently. Perhaps this game will run on the engine and Weta will provide some of their vfx tools and expertise to the project.

I didn't remember that, thanks. Still, the guys at Unity know how to develop an engine and make some scenes, like the lion one from last week, but a videogame demands a lot more than that.

Please excuse my bad English.
