Agree the long term strategy will be the key for this conflict as well as future invasions / wars. They will also need to be able to stand on their own two feet, so hopefully when this current conflict ends, the US and others will not want their equipment back.

Look at Afghanistan, you got to wonder did the US train the Afghan army well? or did they just bend over to the Taliban? or in principle they agreed with the Taliban ideologies and were happy when the US left and things went back to how they were.

It is simply a different country, different people, different culture and a different war.

For Afghani's, the training culture might not have fit them at all. Meanwhile we hear about the Ukrainians as being extremely motivated and learning things faster than a normal soldier would.

Agree but Pemalite is right, eventually they will need to have their own dedicated training for long term sustainability.

Afghan I fear for their women. They were protesting yesterday about the changes and it didn't go down to well. Sadly i think in that culture just easier to own a slave then be in an equal relationship.
