Haven't you heard about the JIUSHARK 2-THREE? It onlñy comes with a 60mm fan! But yes, Gen 5 drives will be quite hot. A couple months ago Guru3D did a test with two NVMe drives, Gen 3 and Gen 4 with several heatsinks, and having one for a Gen 4 drive is a necessity: https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/guru3d-nvme-thermal-test,1.html The worst part of his "buy now because they won't launch in a year" argument (I haven't seen the video so I don't know the details), is that, even if true, it's completely flawed. There is also AMD on the market and they will launch their cards. So you can buy now (when he did the video) some overpriced cards or wait because it doesn't matter what will happen, those cards will get cheaper either because the 4000 series launches and they become "last gen" or because AMD launches their cards and, no matter how big or small their performance jump is, the 3000 series at the actual prices won't be attractive anymore. He made a big mistake and, instead of admiting it and move on, he doubles down on it, making it worse. |
Honestly just feels like next gen PCs will be microwave ovens at that point. CPUs gonna be hotter, GPUs gonna be hotter, RAM gonna be hotter and even SSDs gonna be hotter let alone the wattage increases. I do not envy those that are in warmer climates. And yea, the entire video is facepalm worthy. Also it looks like both Nvidia and AMD AIBs just filed their registration at the EEC: https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-40-ada-lovelace-amd-radeon-rx-7000-rdna-3-graphics-cards-get-registered-at-eec/ I think it's pretty damn clear the launch will be happening sooner than later unlike what Jay says. |
I don' tthink we'll see Gen 5 SSD drives this year and, when they come out, they'll be crazy expensive. Besides, in most real world tests it's hard to tell apart a good Gen 3 from a good Gen 4 drive so, will it really make sense to go Gen 5 vs going with a higher capacity Gen 4?
It's surprising to see the Super cards mentioned again in the listing, but I don't see what could they be used for this late in the gen.
Please excuse my bad English.
