I'll vote Crisis Core, as right now it's the only one I can play and I've not been planning to get a PS5 this gen.

Before I didn't think there was a great chance Square would bother releasing the 'Remake' titles for Xbox, but the fact they're actually throwing a small bone here, even releasing with smart delivery (a big factor for me still), makes me feel there's a better than not chance the games will come to Xbox at some point, even if it's 2-3 years after the initial launch.

People who mostly/only play on Switch have been dealing with that type of uncertainty this whole gen, and they manage to get on and be happy with what they get. So I can't empathise with the mass outrage and whining from Xbox users on this topic. You may as well be saying that the system you chose isn't publishing enough games to keep you happy, so you just throw blame at anyone when things don't go your way, even overlooking many good things that happen.

With the state of Halo, if Avowed was to get pushed back even further than 2023 and if Starfield underwhelms, I may honestly have to reconsider the PS5, or even trying to save for a new PC build in this hellish economy. But that's all still far down the line for me, making me glad that I haven't committed to any ecosystem prematurely; then I'd have no one to blame but myself.

As for FFXVI, the only thing I took away from the last trailer was that it has a lot of particle effects. A shit load of particle effects. Who knows what that game will be. I wished they would've just finished FFXV instead of making people read a book; at least that already had the known potential of a complete epic, if people could just see/play it in it's entirety, and maybe iron out some of the gameplay flaws and mechanics. They didn't even need to do anything too huge outside of what they planned and some QoL improvements, but they just abandoned it instead.

What can you really expect from a company with a track record littered with cases like FFXV. Now their big Hail Mary is/was a remake of FFVII, and while it's interesting and worth following, it's also blatantly no longer a remake. Another concept that's been changed/abandoned, based on how Nomura chose to gel his hair that day and what mood it put him in.

You won't know what you'll get with modern Final Fantasy until you actually get it, so I see no reason to be truly excited.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 releases in a week btw, so I'm not sure why we're dedicating a thread to games that don't even have release dates.
