Semi watched that Jaytwocents "DON'T WAIT!!! ACT NOW!" video and wth.. thats some terrible advice. Buying a high end GPU now is probably the worst time to do it. Not sure if he's being serious or just straight up shilling there.

Telling people to don't think and run out and buy two year old overinflated GPU's now when we're so close to Ada/RDNA 3 launch is just.. smh. These GPU's are sitting there in stockpiles due to crash in mining and peoples lack of interest in them. And only recently gone back to its original prices. The prices are going to get lower closer to launch when people start to panic sell. And much lower by the end of the year.

Besides that prices are already crazy enough as it is, never mind these GPU manufacturers thinking they can get away with selling their 2 year old GPU tech for MSRP.

I was a bit put off by it, because that's not normally like Jay to suggest such advice. Kinda came off a bit LTT-like, you know, ad-sponsored LTT-like.

Also I watched Tech Yes's response to jay's vid and I can't help put facepalm at Bryan's userbase muttering "it's Jays fans, what do you expect?" or something similar along those lines. Like Jay isn't a retard, nor his audience, if anything I see GN/Tech yes and Jays in the same sort of league, while LTT is now more aimed at casuals and flashy shit for those jus wanting to watch a few clips (Linus is doing far more youtube shorts now, while the other 3 channels prev mentioned aren't really bothering with that side of YT, which is more aimed at casual views).

Bryan is more or less spot on with his advice, while Jay's feels haphazard and rushed, and I imagine he's going to own up to that within the next week, if he'll have watched Bryan's response.

There is however one tiny little piece of Bryan's vid I disagree heavily on, and that's "buy used". We've seen what's been going on the past couple of years with the used market so far and even recently, Crypto bros have been flooding that market, and I know there will be a good amount of ppl out there trying to buy these cards up, not fully knowing that they were heavily used for Mining, and thus have a much shorter lifespan/wonky performance.

I wouldn't buy used at all, because that's a market that's being saturated at this moment by the miners, just like how near the start, miners and scalpers were taking over the supply/demand, now one group is taking over the second hand market via flooding used mining cards.

I'm thinking now to just wait for a 3080 that lowers to around my 1080ti price, but at the same time I will judge it's stock level, to see if I can wait out a bit longer until the 4000 series comes about (Bryan even said in a recent podcast of his that it's better value to go for the 3080 instead of the Ti variant, due to already stupid price differences and this time around I'll agree with that).

Having said all that, I still firmly believe that both miners/GPU manufacturers/vendors should be punished for siding with the miners/scalpers for 2 yrs straight. I also agree with Bryan in seeing PC hw being in a bit of a state atm, with current gen systems being better bang for buck compared to what we got from PC back in 2015/2016 (Even if current gen is low in stock, it's still mocking the MSRP's and inflated prices of most current gen cards at this moment). (26:45 on the vid below).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
