Yeah they even use their panels in their flagship TV line. I don't think it would be too hard for them to approach Samsung for their new line of monitors. And you would think that would be as cost effective if not more for Sony to do, that going this route that going with a passable 27" IPS panel and with mini LED array.
The M9 is like £1000 in the UK lol. Just a hundred pounds or more nets you a Samsung Odyssey Neo G7. Which is essentially the same as the 32" Neo G8 32" with 1196 dimming zones but 165hz, instead of 240hz.
