I remember many PC retailers brutally called their consumers the "stingies" for buying high quality 750W PSU cause they went for the high-end GPUs back in the 2010s. They were(PC retailers) giving them some advice and hoped the consumers at least choose the 1200W, but failed.

Wasn't that because a lot of people understood PSU efficiency backward?

For example, that a 750W PSU would max out at only 600W if it had 80% efficiency...

It could be that if i remember right. Like mostly they argued over the difference between Gold, Platinum and Titanium, so what did they do... They ended up getting the 750W with Platinum class for their RTX 2080 Ti AND Core i7-9800X!

The Core i7-9800X is 165W according to Intel official website.

EDIT: Oh boy, i almost forgot something. The cooling fans with RGB lights and LED strips also consume power.
