I must have written it elsewhere already, but since online platforms like Steam and GOG started making a large number of updated installers for old games, running old games on new Windows versions ceased giving problems. BTW many very old games released before the sorry period the worst DRMs like StarForce plagued PC games, install and run nicely on new HW and new Windows versions without needing updated installers.
