I dont think anybody's mentioned God of War yet--its up there with the good ones..
Psychonauts is also very good and inventive.
Zelda and Metroid were good the first times you came accross them (in my case I particularly loved the mythology in OoT)... too bad they've played the same ones out over and over and over since...
