Like you I had most of the trouble during the first level then I pretty much sailed throught he rest of the game. I could shoot the gun and let the webs do damage while I was hiding or focusing on dodging.

I'd give the game overall an 8/10. If I had a choice I wish the game would remove the rogue like elements and just become more of a standard 3rd person action game. I understand other changes to the game would have to be made at that point but it's just what I would prefer. The combat was great though and I hope more games copy it. There's nothing else really like it and believe me I tried to find it.

That's interesting! I mainly used the first assault rifle cause it ended up having an upgrade with some shots that could heal you and that seemed like a no brainer. Maybe I'll give other weapons more of a chance in future playthroughs.
Yeah, the story was a bit too obtuse for me but some of the scenes in the house and the twist mid-game was pretty well done.
I'm 50/50 on the Roguelike stuff; I can see myself enjoying it a bit more if I didn't lose everything after every death but to be fair, it's a part of its charm and uniqueness so maybe you'd be taking away something from the overall experience if you didn't have that.
P.S.: Those teleporting scumbags on the ice level were the WORST, don't you think?

Yes there was one room that had like three of them that I needed to beat to get the key. It was so damn hard but once I started going up and down levels it got easier. This is also when I got the spiderweb gun so that also made it easier.
