I will list any console that I consider my main gaming plattform for that time period. I will also list some games I remember from that time. Games that had a lasting impression on me. Listed are the years that I started mainly using each system. I'm born in 1988 so ofc I did not play the NES back then but from the get go if I touch a controller it was hooked on to the gray box.

NES 1988 - A few friends and my cousin had the Nintendo. Was just a young child and used the game genie to get anywhere. My cousin had to help me set it up.

Notable games:  Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, TMNT, Ice Climbers

SNES 1995 - My brother bought the Super Nintendo. First console we had at home.

Notable games : Super Mario All Stars, Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past. Donkey Kong Country

PC 1998 - Pretty much skipped out on any console this generation and did not have any friends who owned a Playstation or N64. Gamed mostly on the families computer

Notable games: Sim City 2000, Warcraft 2, Starcraft, Diablo, Tyrian, Transport Tycoon, Heroes of might and magic 2 and 3

Gameboy Advance 2002- The first system I bought with my own money as well as the first system I did not have to fight my siblings for playtime on.

Notable games: Mario Kart Super Circuit, Fire emblem, Advance wars, Pokemon Crystal, Legend of Zelda oracle of ages/seasons (did not have a Gameboy color, so I played some older games on the GBA as well)

GameCube 2004 - Me and two of my siblings bought the Gamecube together. It is probably the system I have my most beloved memories with, we still play it on family reunions, bringing our own controllers. The Mario Kart and Zelda pack in for around 150$ is still the best new console deal ever imo.

Notable Games: Mario Kart Double Dash!!, Resident evil 4, Eternal Darkness, Donkey Konga, Super Smash Bros Melee, Zelda ooT/Majoras mask

Wii 2006 - First system bought at launch. Home to what in my opinion is the best version of the best game, Resident Evil 4, as well as my favorite in both the Zelda and Mario series. But also the first time I got really disappointed in an anticipated game when Super Smash Bros Brawl was released.

Notable games: Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Resident Evil 4, Zelda Skyward Sword, Wii Sports

DS Lite 2007 - Ok, Here I will stray away thew "one system per generation" trope. DS lite is the system I spent most time playing on. It took over the top spot from Wii as my most used gaming system very fast. It sparked my love for Adventure games. But it also is home to the first Zelda game I did not like and it is the first system I broke. Even so, I still have an extra unused DS lite (My forth DS bought). I had a DS earlier but played a lot more when Lite hit.

Notable games: Phoenix Wright Ace attorney (all of em), Hotel Dusk, Another code two memories, Advance Wars Dual Strike, Pokemon Black/white

PS2 2009 - Since I moved away from my parents I had no console hooked to the TV, and as a student I got no money. Bought a cheap new PS2 at a time when PS3 had already released. Bought two full paper bags with used games for basically nothing, tried each of them and traded in anything I did not like.

Notable games: Resident Evil 4 (worst version imo), Kingdom hearts, Ico, Okami

PS3  2013 - At the end of its life but before the PS4 got released I picked up a PS3. This was the first time I got a system just to play one game The Last of us. Got a lot of use out of it and it was probably my main gaming platform for the longest time.

Notable games: Resident Evil 4, The Last of Us, Uncharted 1,2,3, Heavy Rain

iOS 2018- Yup, my mobile phone was at a time the system I used for playing most. At this time I had a PS3, WiiU and 3DS all hooked up ready to be used. But even if the 3DS was portable, I did not bring it everywhere like with the iPhone. Got my adventure game fix and fell in love with the auto battler genre.

Notable games: Angry Birds, The walking dead, Solomons keep/boneyard, Candy crush saga, Pokemon Lets Go, Teamfight Tactics (I did play Resident Evil 4 on it as well, sadly)

Switch - 2020 If this was the only system I got to keep and play on for the rest of my life, I would be content. The backlog of games I still got to play is so large that I will not have time to scrape the surface. I've got myself a PS5 as well, but so far the top spot is secure in the hands of the Switch for a foreseeable future.

Notable games: Tetris 100, Super Mario Maker 2, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, New Pokemon Snap, Resident Evil 4
