Both are must buys, obviously. I am of the opinion that SC will have deeper more satisfying gameplay though. Between dodging in any direction (as a 3d fighter), countering, the addition of "breakable" armor, and a combo system that is equally as robust as Street Fighter's, I personally think its complexities really make it more of a "Next-gen" fighter than SF is.

Admittedly, I've not played a Street Fighter since SF2 Turbo (which i still play on my wii), has the gameplay evolved that much since then? Or is it still mostly about timing blocks and mastering combos?

i have yet to play a 3D fighter with all of its 3d trickery and armour breaking that has deeper gameplay than SF3: Third Strike. Tekken is tap tap...tap tap tap....tap....tap tap. DOA is rock paper siccors, SC1 was good but it has hardly evolved since... Best 3D fighter in my opinion is VF4 and 5...and that is not nearly as balanced as SF3 (except for that bitch Chun Li)
