Nah because of the price positioning. If the 6800 was a 3070 competitor, then the 6800 would have been priced similarly to a 3070 but instead, the MSRP of the 6800 was $580 vs $500 of the 3070 vs $480 of the 6700XT.
The competitor to a 6800 is a 3070 Ti.
So you get:

6800XT for $650
3070 Ti for $600
6800 for $580
