Yeah, before the invasion, multiple European leaders were nonstop talking to Putin, calling him up, visiting him, trying diplomacy and appeasement, practically begging him not to go through with it and he still did it, if anyone thinks that being nice to Putin will get them a deal then they're straight up delusional, Putin isn't not going to make a deal because someone said some bad words to him, Russia's demands are still bullshit and I don't see that changing, I don't even think Putin wants to genuinely make a deal.

They've literally levelled Mariupol and bombed evacuation routes in multiple locations and we're still saying "lets not call Putin a butcher" Wtf? Lol. If anything, I bet Putin sees Macron as someone who will bend over backwards for him and is weak, which will further embolden him. We've spent years trying to play nice guy with Russia and where did it get us? Absolutely nowhere, so, lay off the tone policing. Putin is a butcher, he shouldn't be leader of Russia and sanctions should remain until every bit of Ukraine land is given back to them.

Vladimir Lenin said "you probe with bayonets: if you find mush, you push. If you find Steel, you withdraw".

It seems to me all Putin and his regime can do is to probe with bayonets. It's time for him to find steel.
