Yeah Rockstar used to be a machine. Churning out high quality content gen on gen with multiple games, different IP's and full single player expansions. These days they just seem to riding on the success of GTA V (online) and not much else for several generations.. well that and RDR 2. They outsourced GTA collection to a horrible dev and then spend years on what seems to be a quite straight forward port to PS5 and Series consoles.

Its going to be years away.. but I'm quite looking forward to playing GTA VI.. I just hope of it content wont be neutered too much for modern audiences. Seriously, the virtue signalling, censorship and overly and in your face PC in media these days is such a drag. I guess that's why I enjoy more Japanese/Korean content these days over Western stuff. Like I can't see most of the stuff in GTA games making its way into 6 without a lot of controversy.

They used to be one of the devs to look out for, the one that always got heads turning and copies selling like hotcakes. They still sell like hotcakes to this day, but they've clearly stopped caring about quality and timing, as well as them knowing they are a big deal, so they don't have to do much to lift a finger.

Also not a fan of how they've been slowly moving away from SP style content over time, in favour of MP PVP with MT's loaded up the wazoo, and now they are doing stupid shit, like attaching a shitty launcher no one asked for to their game (one of the reasons why I flat out uninstalled GTA V on my end and any R* game that "needs" it).

Part of me wants to get hype for GTA VI, but I don't want no R* launcher to slap on my desktop, and I'm kinda done with the "release on same gen of consoles, but drastically inflate HW requirements and have fans call it "demanding" (because it also feels like R* stopped giving a shit about PC optimisation, and just relying on raw horsepower instead).

I'm just glad that we're past GTA IV 'optimisation' era. God that game had such poor performance on PC. Even on beefy hardware years later it still had big hitches and had unstable framerates. Reminds me a bit like Crysis, without the mind blowing graphics and tech in it lol. Thanks Rockstar! But people are going to throw money at them regardless. Just look at how many copies sold for GTA demaster trilogy. its like people don't learn, and buy these AAA games at launch for the name regardless of quality and then go cry on Twitter etc. And don't do any better than support shoddy practices and poor releases by reward them instead.

Companies like EA and Bethesda release their 'big' games broken and expect modders and community to fix their games for them. While on the other hand we have games like Elden Ring that are well complete and.. *mild shock* not broken. Goes on to sell extremely well. Rockstar meanwhile sits on their hands with lack of content for SP and goes all in for the whales on their Live game and has the gall to go after modders for fixing their shit and caring for their stuff. Its wild.

And don't get me started on the launcher. Burn it with fire. Christ you can have anti cheat on Steam/Epic without making a proprietary launcher for it. Heck that doesn't stop hackers from entering online matches or pirates pirating their games >_> I just want more games Rockstar, where they at? F GTA online, played that for a couple months and its enough tbh. I;d settle for another Bully in the meantime or a smaller AA game from them until GTA 6.
