The 3070 => 4070 jump seems too big compared to the rest. It's not that I don't believe it, past xx70 chips have performed like the xx80Tis of the gen they replace, but it still seems a bit too much this time around. We'll see, tho.
Not to be a party pooper, but just because the Switch successor could have DLSS, that doesn't mean that it has to be based on the AD10B chip. After all, Nvidia developed Lovelace because Hopper was too expensive to be downscaled for gaming GPUs and it could still be too expensive to be used in one of the Tegras they use for self-driving cars and other applications. Besides, Nintendo going for the latest tech available? That hasn't happened since the GameCube, and I'm not sure they feel the need to spend so much on the hardware side. |
With great power comes great price. Greatly increased price that is.
Yea we will have to see. If Nintendo does go with Lovelace or even DLSS, I think the Switch 2 will cost $400 starting. The earliest we will probably see a switch 2 will be 2024 imo since Nvidia will release their mobile SoC for Lovelace next year and low end versions the year after. Nintendo certainly isn't the one to go for the latest and greatest but who knows. With new CEO, new management and Nvidia designing the hardware, maybe they will finally break the pattern.
