Having said that, I don't think physicals will ever completely disappear, they're still being made for films and music even though stuff like Netflix/HBO Max/Disney+/Paramount+/etc. and Spotify/Apple Music/Google Play exist.You don't own any copyrighted digital file but the license to use it. That goes for a lot of media, including physical games.
But yeah I can see physical games going the way of the Bluray/CD in a decade. Two max.
