1) The PS3 is a powerful beast that creates a lot of heat, so you shouldn't worry about anything but your electric bill. 2) I strongly recommend keeping it in an open, well-ventilated area to increase the longevity of the system. My room feels like a sauna after a long period of gaming and that's with constant central air. 3) DSL should be fine as long as nothing interferes with your signal. 4) Guessing your PS3 doesn't support your anime's file type but I've watched a few .avi files.
