I know a guy who bought a new 360, opened it up and swaped the guts of his broken one for the good one's, then returned it. Slightly unethical but he was playing his games again the same day so...

When my 360 broke I was lucky enough to be under warranty. But it still sucked, and I don't trust the system any more. I only use it very rarely now, for exclusives only, and all of my cross platform stuff gets bought on PS3.

Good luck, I personally think Microsoft should fix all 360's free of charge no matter what code shows up. The hardware is a peice of crap and consumers deserve better.

I'm suprised the gaming world has downplayed this situation as though it's gone now. How about some follow up on this situation from the media. Might not be a fresh new story, but it is definately still a huge problem, and consumers deserve to know wether or not the problem is fixed before they invest their hard earned money.
