What? Sony has never put in the amount of work they are right now. They just spent $3.6 billion on Bungie. Their previous biggest gaming purchase was 1/10th of that. They bought 5 studios last year, more than they ever have. They said, they have a lot more coming. Their previous biggest buying spree was 4 studios across 2 years. They've been expanding their studios at a record pace. SIE has never been larger. They have made far more exclusive deals this generation like Final Fantasy XVI, Forspoken, Deathloop, Ghostwire Tokyo. They're not spending as much as Microsoft, and they're not growing as quickly. At the same time, they've never needed to. Sony is bigger market share wise than Microsoft, Activision, Bethesda combined. |
$3.6Billion for Bungie VS Microsoft buying Bethesda for $7.5billion & Activision for $70billion..
The 5 studios Sony bought except Insomniac were all low key.
Sony isn't competing with itself but Microsoft so its Microsoft's investments that you should compare with not Sony's previous small investments.
Also,Sony now has a bigger market share but the way they are going, they won't in the future if they don't up their game
