Atari Combines NFTs with Lootboxes for its 50th Anniversary
https://gamerant.com/atari-lootbox-nfts/
Atari has made gaming history many times in the last half a century, and to celebrate this momentous occasion it has announced a new system that combines lootboxes with NFTs. The controversial decision is set to combine the Metaverse with "giftable" artwork celebrating Atari titles released over the last 50 years.
>>Just a reminder that this is not the same Atari that made the consoles.

It may not be the same as the console one, but neither are any good.

Unofficial Minecraft NFT game 'Blockverse' disappears with more than $1M
https://www.pcgamer.com/unofficial-minecraft-nft-game-blockverse-disappears-with-more-than-dollar1m/
Another day, another NFT rug pull, this one purportedly perpetrated earlier this week by Blockverse, "an on-chain Ethereum NFT that enables a unique P2E on Minecraft like no other"—essentially a play-to-earn PvP Minecraft server, with access restricted to those who owned a relevant token. Enthusiasm for Blockverse was high—the initial supply of 10,000 NFTs, priced at 0.05ETH (currently $124) each, reportedly sold out in less than eight minutes—but just a couple days later, the project's creators deleted their website, Discord server, and game server, and disappeared with the money.

Blizzard's survival game has been in development for almost 5 years
https://www.pcgamer.com/blizzards-survival-game-has-been-in-development-for-almost-5-years/
Blizzard clearly isn't ready to share many details about its upcoming survival game, because the only title for the game it's given us is "Unannounced Survival Game." Enigmatic! The non-announcement has at least allowed current and ex-Blizzard developers to speak openly about their involvement, and based on their comments, we've learned that: A) people with knowledge of the project are pretty hyped about it, and B) it's been in some form of development for more than four-and-a-half years.

Almost five years in the making and they're starting to hire people now? Either they've scrapped most of it several times, which is not a good sign, or the people excited about it are only excited about the idea behind that game.

In any case, I'd be cautious about this game. Just in case.
