Atari has made gaming history many times in the last half a century, and to celebrate this momentous occasion it has announced a new system that combines lootboxes with NFTs. The controversial decision is set to combine the Metaverse with "giftable" artwork celebrating Atari titles released over the last 50 years.

Another day, another NFT rug pull, this one purportedly perpetrated earlier this week by Blockverse, "an on-chain Ethereum NFT that enables a unique P2E on Minecraft like no other"—essentially a play-to-earn PvP Minecraft server, with access restricted to those who owned a relevant token. Enthusiasm for Blockverse was high—the initial supply of 10,000 NFTs, priced at 0.05ETH (currently $124) each, reportedly sold out in less than eight minutes—but just a couple days later, the project's creators deleted their website, Discord server, and game server, and disappeared with the money.

Blizzard's survival game has been in development for almost 5 years

Enigmatic! The non-announcement has at least allowed current and ex-Blizzard developers to speak openly about their involvement, and based on their comments, we've learned that: A) people with knowledge of the project are pretty hyped about it, and B) it's been in some form of development for more than four-and-a-half years.

Evil Dead: The Game Delayed

In late 2020, at The Game Awards, developer Saber Interactive revealed Evil Dead: The Game, an asymmetric multiplayer horror game inspired by titles like Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th: The Game. Evil Dead: The Game has since confirmed that Ash Williams actor Bruce Campbell will be included in the game, as well as many of the series' original cast. Yet as Evil Dead: The Game's release window approached, multiple times, the game has been delayed -- and it appears it's doing so once more.

Microsoft will soon begin automatically cancelling dormant Game Pass subscriptions

Following an investigation by the UK's Competition and Markets Authority, Microsoft has said it will make changes to its Game Pass program that will make it easier for subscribers to cancel the service, and will stop taking payments for subscriptions that go dormant.
