Yeah sometimes I agree with Dunkey, other times not. This one pretty much hits the nail how I feel about the game. The way he's semi serious in this review shows he quite likes a game (like the combat is pretty darn great), though with quite a few caveats attached which mirrors my experience with it. The one thing they do 343i deserves recognition for, is how polished the games are in both MP and SP campaign. Granted they had an extra year to release it, its a good example to show that you can delay a game for the better. Instead of buggy, untested messes we more often or not get from open world games. Also, just watched his takes on GTA III and BF 2077 for the lol's and the latter nearly had me in tears xD |
In some ways I agree but in others I don't when it comes to their polish. On one hand, I do like that it's effectively bug free. But on the other, the performance feels very poor in the open world. A 3080 Ti can't hold 4k 60fps which is insane when there are a ton of more visually demanding games that can perform 70-90fps if not more. There are a few more issues that DF noted but the performance you get for the visuals you receive is quite nonsense. Of course online is a different story as it's pretty good there.
So I'll give 343 half a recognition if that makes any sense. While there are effectively no bugs, the performance shouldn't be this bad.
And yea, I do like his jokey style. His 2019 Modern Warfare was so dang funny and yea, GTA/BF/2077 were top notch.
