i went with a 2.1 logitech set (like the z623) a year or 2 back which soundwise is great, the drawback being ofc all sound comes from the front.
So my suggestion would be checking the 5.1 set which has a budget(z506) and normal edition (z906) afaik.
Why I don't go with surround sets in general is the placement of the boxes in the back of the room or on the wall, unless you go with massive towers
