I do still like many of their games like Guardians of the Galaxy and I did download FFVIIR on PC and once you install a few mods, the experience is pretty good, especially at 120 fps mode. But it's like, how many years is it gonna take for SE to take the PC platform seriously. Like this isn't a matter of the PC platform not being a success. They have had plenty of games where PC platform has sold very well. Heck I wouldn't doubt if PC is their largest userbase on FFXIV considering how popular MMOs are on PC. Yet they continue to give the PC version a middle finger from time to time which is very annoying. |
I think the only way I would ever touch it, is via the booty bay, but I just cba looking for it and getting all that set up (I haven't yarr'd a game in just over a decade now, Steam/GoG have just been that convenient for me).
I know there's Guardians, but the initial trailer got my attention, but then the gameplay kinda put me off. I thought it was gonna be more of you playing StarLord, instead of the weird Japanese-style party system.
Valheim sold a crazy amount this year, probably more than whatever VII R is gonna sell on PC, but I just think SE are stubborn as hell and some greed to boot, so who knows how long it will be for them to take PC more seriously. I know we had that mini documentary for when they released XV Windows edition, showing us how they made it, but that's just marketing PR like how Ubisoft does their mini PC port advertisements (I honestly just see that as more of a fake "we love you guys" kind of spin, and I know that's jaded of me, but the results really do speak for themselves).
I do think SE is more loyal to Sony though. Remember when they had no choice but to go to Xbox after PS3 started out badly, then basically did waaay more deals with Sony by the late PS3 gen, throughout the last gen?.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
