Not related to PC per say but it's quite insane none the less. The summary is that Toyota cars have this feature where you can remote start the car however it requires you to pay a subscription in order to use it. Now there are other car brands that require a subscription to use a remote start function but the key difference is that with other brands, you generally have to install an app onto your phone and it talks to their servers which then talks to your car and starts it up. With Toyota, the remote start only talks to your car. So the subscription service for this function makes no sense because companies like Honda have the very same function that is included with the purchase.

I had a feeling this was going to happen though. For some years now we've had subscription movie streaming, and for years we've had subscription MMO's and other services (like Gamepass and console online services) for some time, so I guess the other industries of the world are like "why don't we do that for all our shit?". 

World is gonna get bleak if everyone in every other industry decides they want to turn everything into a sub service model, where we don't own everything and constantly have to pay a fee, or it gets taken away from us/become utterly useless.

Yea exactly. It's quite the shame cause not only are the car subscriptions BS cause the base price is the same, you are just adding a subscription on top but also that cars are a necessity these days and you can't live without one. Who knows what's next.
