The Friday news, part two:

Call of Duty: Vanguard's first season pass arrives with monetised killcams
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/call-of-duty-vanguards-first-season-pass-arrives-with-monetised-killcams/
Activision has detailed Call of Duty: Vanguard's first season pass, and the big news is what it calls 'killcam vanities'. Killcams in the context of Call of Duty play briefly after you've been killed, showing how it happened, and at the end of every game all players will see the 'best' multikill of the match replayed—so you can see why players might desire killcam cosmetics.

https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/activision-blizzard-employees-announce-formal-strike-launch-fundraiser-to-support-work-stoppage/
The ABK Workers Alliance, an organization of Activision Blizzard employees formed in the wake of a lawsuit alleging widespread sexual harassment and discrimination at the company, has launched a fundraising campaign to support workers taking part in the work stoppage that began on Monday. The Gofundme campaign is seeking $1 million to help cover lost wages, as well as to assist with the relocation expenses of Raven Software workers who were let go last week.

Halo: Infinite doesn't have cross-save if you buy it on Steam
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/halo-infinite-doesnt-have-cross-save-if-you-buy-it-on-steam/
Halo Infinite is pretty good! Developer 343 Industries seems to have left the shadow of Bungie behind and built a new foundation for the series, but one unfortunate aspect that's come to light following the game's full launch (after the surprise multiplayer release several weeks ago) is that the cross-save functionality with consoles only works if you've bought the game via the Microsoft store or Xbox Game Pass.

The Expanse is getting the Telltale treatment, and the choice of protagonist is strong
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/the-expanse-game/
Amazon sci-fi show The Expanse is getting a Telltale adventure series, which would've been unsurprising news in 2016, before Telltale fell apart, shut down, and bits of it were sold off.

Alan Wake 2 will be 'Remedy's first-ever survival horror game'
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/alan-wake-2-will-be-remedys-first-ever-survival-horror-game/
A rumor surfaced earlier this year saying that Alan Wake 2 was possibly in "full production." At tonight's Game Awards, the game was finally confirmed with a sinister new trailer about a frightening new story.
>> Meh. The game comes too late for me.

Wonder Woman game announced, is in development at Monolith Productions
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/wonder-woman-game-announced-is-in-development-at-monolith-productions/
A Wonder Woman game is in development at Monolith Productions, it was announced at The Game Awards. That's the studio responsible for Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and its Shadow of War follow-up. Like those games, it'll be published by Warner Bros.

Former BioWare developers announce Victorian crafting survival game Nightingale
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/former-bioware-developers-announce-victorian-crafting-survival-game-nightingale/
Two things I can't ever seem to get enough of are historical fantasy and crafting survival games—exactly the combo that a group of former BioWare developers are working on at Inflexion Games. The studio has just announced its first game Nightingale with a gameplay trailer during The Game Awards and its plans to launch in early access next year. Good heavens, it's full of wonderfully outlandish outfits and bizzare Fae enemies too.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 adds a war-priest with the holy hammer of Sigmar
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/warhammer-vermintide-2-adds-a-war-priest-with-the-holy-hammer-of-sigmar/
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a game about smashing up lots of rodents for loot and really rather good—and even better thanks to years of significant free expansions. Now it's announced a new 'career' for one of the game's characters, which is not a word that sounds very exciting, but this is only the fourth in the game's lifespan: for Victor Saltzpyre this means a new talent tree, new weapon types, and new abilities, basically a new way to play the game.

Cuphead's long-awaited and much-delayed DLC gets a firm release date
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/cupheads-long-awaited-and-much-delayed-dlc-gets-a-firm-release-date/
Announced back in 2018, Cuphead's The Delicious Last Course DLC has been delayed several times from its original 2019 launch window. But it looks like we finally have a concrete date: The Delicious Last Course hits all platforms on June 30, 2022.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands story trailer is predictably manic
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/tiny-tinas-wonderlands-story-trailer-is-predictably-manic/
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands got a substantial new trailer during The Game Awards, focusing on the Borderlands offshoot's tabletop-infused fantasy story. That's it above, and as you will definitely find out, it's extremely colorful.

Among Us VR is first-person, and coming to SteamVR and Oculus Quest 2
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/among-us-vr-is-first-person-and-coming-to-steamvr-and-oculus-quest-2/
Surprise surprise, Among Us is getting an official VR adaptation. Studio Innersloth announced the project at the Game Awards today, and it's more than a port: Among Us VR is its own first-person experience, though it otherwise stays true to the format of the original.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds goes free-to-play in January
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/playerunknowns-battlegrounds-goes-free-to-play-in-january/

There's a new Dune RTS coming for the first time in 23 years
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/theres-a-new-dune-rts-coming-for-the-first-time-in-23-years/
Dune's coming home where it belongs: the strategy genre. Westwood Studios' Dune 2, released back in the early '90s, more or less established the real-time strategy genre, paving the way for Command & Conquer and Blizzard's Warcraft. Westwood revisited Arrakis in 1998 with a remake, Dune 2000, that was a bit eh and not among the best Dune games. And that was it for Dune and strategy until now: at The Game Awards, Funcom debuted a trailer for Dune: Spice Wars, a 4X coming next year.

In November 2020, former Electronic Arts chief design officer Patrick Soderlund announced that he was working on a shooter at his new studio, Embark. At the Game Awards tonight, that game was properly unveiled as Arc Raiders, a free-to-play co-op third-person PvE shooter set to come out in 2022 that pits squads of humans against endless hordes of murder machines from space.

Starfield Steam page appears as Bethesda cranks up the marketing machine
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/starfield-steam-page-appears-as-bethesda-cranks-up-the-marketing-machine/
Starfield is Bethesda's first original RPG in 25 years, set in space hundreds of years in the future, and it's coming late next year, on November 11, 2022. Today it's popped up on Steam, billing itself as a "next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars" where you'll "embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery."
