#24: Xenoblade Chronicles 2
I keep writing way to much, so I'll try to keep it a bit shorter here.
This is the first Xenoblade game I played. At first I played it in handheld mode and despite the low resolution it looks very pretty. Then I switched to docked mode and oh my god does this look gorgeous.
The characters are all great with wonderful dynamics between them and great dialogue. While there might be a bit to many cut scenes they're all enjoyable and never feel like filler. The story is amazing. At the end I felt similar to what I described with Ys IX, I was sad that it was over. It was a wonderful long journey that I will always cherrish. It is a story that you never forget and that sticks with you.
Some of the music is great, though it's not quite on the level of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, as I found out later.
The battle system needs a bit getting used to but ultimately it's great fun. The level design and environments are fantastic, you can't expect anything else from Monolith. Topnotch.
Xenoblade Chronicles is a fantastic, gorgeous game, among the very best on the Switch, with an anazing story and characters. Like most long JRPGs it's not something that I'll replay anytime soon, but I don't need to since it's so memorable.
This is a top of the shelf JGPG, an absolute must play.
