Now that you've posted your impressions and are quite satisfied with it, I can finally say it: congratulations on your purchase.

You comment regarding the brightness of HDR, even at 600 nits, is something that worries me. I currently have the brightness of my monitor set at 12% and it still hurts when looking at a white image.

"Thankfully", I won't have to face that problem for a while .

Yea the problem with this monitor is that the full screen brightness is 600 nits so it will push out that in HDR mode no matter what you are doing. While in gaming, it can dim parts of it since the game is signalling the monitor to do so, in office tasks where there's plenty of white and such, it can give you a headache. I basically have mine in SDR mode with 14 brightness setting and that's about as bright as my Alienware set to 40%.

I do think that with more zones, it will probably be better in the future though.

That much brightness would be unbearable to me.

OLED TV/monitors don't have that problem, and we'll see what happens with micro-LED ones.
