The designers of this game knew how to make great set pieces. It is a train of memorable locations and rolling vistas. Then the game starts in the middle of the action, right in the center of one of those memorable set pieces. This scene is also the 'image' of the game. All the Uncharted games feature the most iconic locale from the game as their primary artwork and 'Uncharted 2: Among Thieves' has the derailed train dangling from an icey cliffside. This scene features as both the prologue and as a midway point after the games goes back through flashbacks, besides the box art and advertisements.
Of course this scene isn't the only memorable thing the game had to offer. Another famous one, and one that impressed me a lot, is the collapsing building. This was a great showcase of physics like I never really saw before. Luckily the game beside the flashy exterior is great as well, the characters and the story are engaging and fun, the gameplay and controls are tight and intuitive. This game was just "done", when it released. The developers really made sure that what they brought out complied with their highest standard, it shows. And this is all I really want, something that's fun, and works and is undoubtedly what the designers wanted to release.
