At least this doesn't seem to directly have to do with SNY and their workplace. He may have worked there and could have potentially used that indirect position of power to influence others, but doing it on personal time is quite different than through or at work.

If he was fired he most likely confessed to Sony sometime after the story broke in the last 24 hours.
