Black Friday is a western thing so I imagine for this week they put higher priority on other regions. 

It's not unusual for Japan sales to drop Black Friday week, last year Japan sold less on BF than the week before just like this year.

It's even mostly an american thing (cause you know, other countries don't celebrate thanksgiving), it starts to become a thing in other countries to justify sales period. 

I live in Europe and I received several adds saying "black friday week" yeah no
