I don't think complaining is a bad thing because it can lead to a better experience if the company listens. Imagine if people didn't complain about Halo Infinite's original showing, it would still look like an early xbox one game made by an indie studio. Yes gaming these days are better in some ways but it's also certainly worse in other ways. The idea of being able to buy the full game and getting all the content is becoming more and more rare. So while it is easier to access the base game, it doesn't mean you get the full game and yes, cosmetics are part of the game.

Think of it this way, a company like Activision has a better battlepass system than Halo Infinite on their free to play Call of Duty Warzone. Imo, if you're game has a worse system than Activision of all companies, you are absolutely doing something wrong.
