Crusader Kings 3's first expansion, Royal Court, releases February 2022
Crusader Kings 3 is a superb continuation of Paradox's long-running pope-em-up grand strategy series, and Paradox has today announced the release date for its first major expansion: Royal Court. It's coming on February 8 2022 and "armchair rulers and aspiring emperors will be able to accumulate artifacts and build new kinds of nations," as well as introducing new ways to manage one's court.
Sneaky Forza Horizon 5 players have been exploiting accessibility options for easy cash
A few weeks ago, Forza Horizon 5's barn-based gifting system was being flooded by cheap Jeeps... () .. at least until a recent patch which removed the Super Wheelspin reward from the Willys altogether.
In response, some players are now using a more creative solution to get easy cash—using Forza Horizon 5's accessibility options to generate a large pile of skill points without ever having to touch their controller.
Epic buys Fuser studio Harmonix to bring music to Fortnite
Fuser studio Harmonix is now a part of Epic Games. The studio said in an FAQ that the new ownership will enable it to "once again challenge expectations as we bring our unique brand of musical gaming experiences to the Metaverse."
No Neo or John Wick in Mortal Kombat, says Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves has addressed the question which apparently Mortal Kombat fans have been asking. In an interview with Esquire to promote The Matrix 4 (thanks, Eurogamer) the internet's favourite nice guy was asked about whether Neo or John Wick would appear in a Mortal Kombat game, if it were up to him.
Halo Infinite's Fracture: Tenrai event is live now: here's how it works
Halo Infinite's first event, Fracture: Tenrai, began on November 23 and will run for one week. Fracture: Tenrai will return several times throughout Season 1, so don't worry if you can't unlock everything from the Yoroi armor set in one week. In fact, 343 has said you definitely won't be able to work your way through the whole event pass in one go, so take note of the future dates that Fracture: Tenrai's been announced to return below.

Activision forms 'Workplace Responsibility Committee,' does not remove Bobby Kotick as CEO
Activision Blizzard has announced the formation of a Workplace Responsibility Committee, made up of two members of the company's board of directors, which will oversee the company's implementation of "new policies, procedures, and commitments" aimed at eliminating harassment, discrimination, and other abuses in the workplace.
Canceled Fallout RPG from 2003 is being resurrected
Black Isle Studios' planned version of Fallout 3, codenamed "Van Buren," was canceled in 2003, followed shortly by the studio's dissolution. (...)
Enter game developer Adam Lacko and his Project Van Buren. Since 2017, Lacko has been building off the aforementioned tech demo and design document to create a complete version of Van Buren in the Unity engine, to be released for free. Lacko has been writing much of the project's code himself, as well as consulting with former members of Black Isle. In Lacko's own words, "Project Van Buren aims to recapture and preserve this visual presentation to the pettiest detail, staying true with the intended course of its original makers."

Punishing permadeath platformer Dead Cells (our pick for Best Roguelike back in 2018) just got a new update that adds skins, weapons, and skills from other indie games that have cores of similar hardness. To unlock the outfits you'll need to complete challenges found via a book of clues in the opening area, and the rest can be found in new lore rooms scattered throughout the levels.

The state of Battlefield 2042: tank sniping, buff hovercrafts, and a ghost tower
The latest odd discovery made by Battlefield 2042 players is a way to hide a helicopter inside a building. Nestled among the skyscrapers that dot one side of the Hourglass map is a squat office building with a solid roof and, it turns out, illusory sides. Helicopters can magically pass through the building's walls, allowing pilots to conceal themselves by hovering at its center.
PC, Final Fantasy 14 and Resi Village win big at Golden Joystick Awards 2021
The annual gaming jamboree that is The Golden Joysticks was held last night, the longstanding awards show that is decided by public votes and hands out gongs to the best of our industry. This year's spectacle also tied-into the 50th anniversary of Computer Space, the first commercial video game, and added two categories for the occasion: Best Gaming Hardware of All Time and Ultimate Game of All Time.
Dragon Age 4's senior creative director has left BioWare
Matt Goldman, senior creative director of Dragon Age 4, has left BioWare after 23 years.
BioWare boss Gary McKay announced Goldman's departure in an email sent out to staff, which read: "Hi everyone, I hope you are well. I'm writing to inform you all that Matt Goldman is leaving BioWare. We have mutually agreed to part ways, and his last day is today."
No Man's Sky expeditions return from tomorrow, giving players another chance to earn Mass Effect's Normandy SR1
One of 2021's big themes for No Man's Sky has been expeditions, with highlights including a Mass Effect crossover that saw the Normandy make an appearance. These events, however, run for a limited time, and a press release from Hello Games acknowledges that "this very busy year, and the limited-time nature of the expeditions, has meant that it has been difficult for some people to participate in them."
