A small group of Activision Blizzard shareholders is calling for the resignation of CEO Bobby Kotick and two long-serving members of the company's board of directors, and says that it will not vote for the re-election of any of the current board members at the company's annual shareholders meetings next year if they refuse to step down.
>> They only represent the 0.6% of the total shares. In other words, they don't matter much.

The next major Minecraft update finally has a date. Mojang have announced that their Minecraft 1.18 update, otherwise known as Caves & Cliffs part 2, is launching on November 30. The second half of Caves & Cliffs was already expected before the end of the year, but I sure don't mind seeing it before the end of this month.

One of 2021's pleasant surprises is that Arcane, the animated League of Legends series on Netflix, is pretty good. (...)
One of the funny things about all of this is, of course, is that it's pretty easy to watch a Netflix series, but should you wish to explore further... League of Legends is not the most welcoming game around. Nevertheless, the show's success has coincided with an unmistakable uptick in the number of players choosing key characters from the show (thanks, NME).

DICE has temporarily disabled a Battlefield 2042 gadget that it says was causing rubberbanding in the Conquest and Breakthrough modes, and there's no ETA on the item's return. The developer said on Tuesday that locking away the Prox Sensor improved server performance enough to convince it to "sustain the temporary change" for the time being.

Blizzard co-head Jen Oneal announced her resignation earlier this month, barely three months after taking the job, saying that she was "inspired by the passion of everyone" at the studio to move to a more industry-wide approach to improving diversity and inclusion. But according to a new IGN report, she was also motivated in part by the fact that she was being paid less than her counterpart Mike Ybarra, and that Blizzard was apparently reluctant to address the imbalance.

Recently revealed Hearthstone expansion Fractured in Alterac Valley pits the Alliance and the Horde against each other once again, this time in a snowy battleground being fought over by the Frostwolf Clan and the Stormpike Guard. World of Warcraft players may remember it as the place where they once farmed 200 storm crystals so they could summon the Ancient of War known as Ivus the Forest Lord to the Field of Strife—and now Ivus is back, in Hearthstone form.

While Halo Infinite's multiplayer beta is going down a treat, many players have been vocal in their dislike of the Battle Pass, particularly how slow its progress is. We agree. Following hints yesterday that 343 Industries would address the complaints, community manager John Junyszek has outlined the studio's strategy to make it better.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer is a bit worried about 'exploitative' NFTs
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/xbox-boss-phil-spencer-is-a-bit-worried-about-exploitative-nfts/
As recently as October, the future of gaming was supposed to be the Slayer from Doom showing up as a bonus character in Smash Bros, but that future was denied to us. As we try to pick up the pieces, the business leaders of the gaming world have proffered a new vision: NFTs and the blockchain, baby.
Not everyone in the C-suites of our industry is hailing the new flesh quite yet, however. As reported by Axios, Microsoft's head of gaming, Phil Spencer, expressed a degree of caution over their potential to be "exploitive,(...)

The email links to the Wall Street Journal report that broke these new claims before saying that Ryan and PlayStation's senior leadership are "disheartened and frankly stunned" Actvision Blizzard "has not done enough to address a deep-seated culture of discrimination and harassment."
