New AMD drivers are optimized for Battlefield 2042 and Halo Infinite

AMD has just released a brand new driver that offers optimal performance in Halo Infinite. Additionally, and since this is a newer driver than the Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.11.2, we can assume that it packs all of the performance improvmenets that were featured in it.
As AMD claimed, the latest “Halo Infinite” driver contains Radeon Software Adrenalin for Halo Infinite Driver Version 21.40.03.01 for Windows 10 and Windows 11. For comparison purposes, the previous driver was Version 21.30.33.05.

NVIDIA DLSS 2.3 SDK and NVIDIA Image Scaling SDK are now available

NVIDIA has announced that the DLSS 2.3 SDK is available to all developers. Moreover, its Image Scaling SDK (NIS) is now open-source and is available to everyone.
According to the green team, more than 130 games and applications now support DLSS. Moreover, numerous games (like Cyberpunk 2077 and Doom Eternal) have been updated to the latest 2.3 version which reduces ghosting and improves temporal stability and detail.
As said, the Image Scaling algorithm is also available to everyone as an open-source SDK. NVIDIA Image Scaling (NIS) aims to compete with AMD’s FSR. And, in case you’re wondering, you can already enable NIS via your Control Panel or via GeForce Experience.

Steam servers refuse to buckle as whole world downloads Halo Infinite

At around 11 am PST today, Steam's total bandwidth usage more than doubled to 23.5 Tbps thanks to the surprise release of Halo Infinite's free-to-play multiplayer. The sudden spike wasn't just a line on a graph: When I started the download, Steam could only deliver around 78 KB/s over my high-speed fiber connection. The Steam client estimated that it would take me three days to download Halo Infinite's 23.7 GB multiplayer package at that rate.

But Steam hasn't fallen over yet. If you're struggling to download Halo Infinite on Steam, try pausing and restarting the download.
When I restarted the download, Steam hit its normal rate and Halo Infinite made it to my SSD in a few minutes. When I tried to download a different game after that, it went back to a trickle of bytes. Pausing and restarting a few more times once again fixed it. (You can also try getting Halo Infinite through the Microsoft Store, of course.)
>> Hopefully, that means that their servers will also hold during the first day of the Winter Sale... tho I doubt it.

Windows 11 hasn’t had the smoothest of launches. Ever since the release, every patch Tuesday has been packed with a long list of bug fixes, tweaks and updates. Ars Technica took the time to read through a (very long) changelog for a build that will be released into the preview channel and found this little bit:
We changed the screen color to blue when a device stops working or a stop error occurs as in previous versions of Windows.
