You could make a open world JRPG, thats easily equivalent to elderscrolls in scope, if you have the studios sony does.
Morrowwind sold great, but the simplistic gameplay, the bugs, and the endless sidequest (most without much meaning).... Elderscrolls has been getting worse with newer and newer releases. Elderscrolls online was horrible, I'm surprised its still running.
A big budget well done JRPG, could compete imo.
