Monday news, part two:
Warped perspective puzzler Superliminal somehow has multiplayer now
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/warped-perspective-puzzler-superliminal-somehow-has-multiplayer-now/
Superliminal is a first-person "forced-perspective puzzle game" about escaping bizarre dream worlds by manipulating objects and perspective—kind of like how you can make a coin look larger than the moon by holding it close to your eye. (...)
It's strictly a singleplayer experience, and so the free update released today to mark the one-year anniversary of Superliminal's release is probably not what you'd expect. Called Group Therapy, it adds a competitive multiplayer mode that pits up to 12 players against one another through a series of randomly generated rooms and, apparently, ducks. Developer Pillow Castle calls it a "Battle Royale" mode, but I'm pretty sure that's just a bit of fun irony: The goal here is simply to be the first one to the exit.
Halo Infinite's battle pass won't have dance moves for Spartans
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/halo-infinites-battle-pass-wont-have-dance-moves-for-spartans/
In June, 343 Industries confirmed that Halo Infinite will make use of battle passes along with seasonal multiplayer updates. Unlike similar passes in other games, though, Halo Infinite's won't expire, and players will be able to pick them up at any time, even if the season they're associated with is over. Developers revealed more about how that system will work in an interview with IGN, and what players can expect.
Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker delayed to December
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/final-fantasy-14-endwalker-delayed-to-december/
Last night's big event on Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker had a surprise for fans: The Endwalker expansion has been delayed by two weeks, from November 23rd to December 7th, 2021. Game Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida explained that an overemphasis on the quality of gameplay and story lead to the game release build being unstable, something he took responsibility for and called "selfishness" on his own part.
Just vibe out in this simple math puzzler
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/just-vibe-out-in-this-simple-math-puzzler/
Who's up for a relaxing, minimal, chill puzzle game? It's me. I always am.
Trios is a game where you match sets of numbers with an operator in order to make a specific outcome from a set of limited choices. It sounds like it might be kind of educational, but I assure you, I am not good at arithmetic and I really like Trios. It's the soundtrack and palette that make it: Relaxed music, a nice beat, and pretty sets of variously complimentary colors.
5 Elden Ring classes revealed
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/five-elden-ring-classes-revealed/
There's a network test for Elden Ring coming up, which unfortunately for us isn't available to PC players. To hype up this closed beta From Software has revealed the classes that will be available in it, writing that "In seven days, these five brave Tarnished will cross the Sea of Fog."
BioWare shares teaser image, says 'Mass Effect will continue'
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/bioware-shares-teaser-image-says-mass-effect-will-continue/
November 7 is N7 Day, when the Mass Effect community comes together to celebrate the series. In previous years BioWare has been involved to varying degrees, last year using the occasion to announce Mass Effect Legendary Edition and confirm a new Mass Effect is in development. This year was a more muted affair on the official side of things, with BioWare presumably heads-down working on Dragon Age 4, though it did share a teaser image declaring "Mass Effect will continue".
It's heavy metal vs. demons in deckbuilder Power Chord
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/its-heavy-metal-vs-demons-in-deckbuilder-power-chord/
Who doesn't love it when the battle of the bands is a literal battle, and also the enemy band is demons? Nobody, that's who. Power Chord is a roguelike deckbuilder where you assemble a team of musicians, then use their musical prowess to build an unstoppalbe strategy to defeat bands of enemy demons in order to close the hellmouth that's ostensibly opened up, or something.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla teases roadmap of content for the next two months
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/assassins-creed-valhalla-teases-roadmap-of-content-for-the-next-two-months/
Ubisoft has revealed a roadmap for content coming to Assassin's Creed Valhalla over the next two months.
Well, it's more of a "sneak peek" according to the developer, with the finer details of each upcoming addition being mighty vague. Everything kicks off on November 9 when Title Update 1.4.0 launches, along with a "free game activity" called Tombs of the Fallen. The tombs were accidentally leaked last week through some PlayStation trophy additions, but it's still unclear what exactly the tombs are linked to.
Konami de-lists Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 over licensing issues
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/konami-de-lists-metal-gear-solid-2-and-3-over-licensing-issues/
Konami has announced that it will be removing Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 from various digital storefronts, including GOG.com and Nvidia Shield. The removal is apparently "temporary" and relates to the use of licensed footage within cutscenes.
A great day for DRM as Denuvo lapse renders tons of games temporarily unplayable
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/a-great-day-for-drm-as-denuvo-lapse-renders-tons-of-games-temporarily-unplayable/
If you tried to fire up a game on your PC this weekend, you may have run into the teeny tiny issue of it refusing to boot. It seems as though Denuvo's servers had a bit of a hiccup on November 7, rendering tons of games with the DRM technology temporarily unplayable.
Riot announces an Arcane/Among Us collaboration, and details free stuff across its own games
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/riot-announces-an-arcaneamong-us-collaboration-and-details-free-stuff-across-its-own-games/
Riot Games has announced some detail on Progress Days, the next part of the Riot X Arcane shenanigans going on around the launch of the publisher's first animated series. Arcane has proven something of a surprise package, with even non-LoL fans finding something to love. PCG's own Steven Messner thinks it's amazing.
