Exactly, it's like rewarding Nintendo for not giving up on the genre, which is bizarre, because the genre itself is thriving more than ever before. As for the Metroid franchise, Prime is a much more novel concept, even now, as there really hasn't been an explosion of exploration based FPS. If I actually sit and think about it, Dread never makes my top 5 Metroidvanias, and maybe not even the top 10.
