Well, he said raytracing doesn't interest him right now with the current hardware on the market and it's limitations (even under NVidia), and considering he prefers FSR over DLSS, there's not much left where NVidia is truly better for his use scenario. The encoding could be done at a lower bitrate, but other than that, there's not really much of advantage for him if he chose NVidia.

I also agree with that guy on the software. I was used AMD software for many years until I got an NVidia GPU in my laptop and I found it infuriating compared to the easiness that the AMD software provided, so much so that I try to deal with it as little as possible. But maybe it's just because I'm more used to have everything neatly packed in one program...

You could apply his logic to before RT and before whatever tech was on the market and being made a fuss about, therefore making AMD the only purchase to ever go for and never Nvidia, because stuff isn't there yet (which happens a lot in this industry more than you think).

I honestly don't have many issues with GFE. I used to when it started out because it was barebones and ultra basic and used up more processes and memory, but now that's changed and they offer me more features to make use of (like shadowplay, screenshotting that I can manipulate on the fly, tuning my games with one click or a profile preference of my own choosing, being able to stream, noise cancelling tech, webcam greenscreen tech etc).

Like I know we're going through pros and cons here, but for the longest time, neither AMD nor Nvidia have been equals, let alone equal for a long time before the scales tip. Atm Nvidia has great features and tech going for it, while AMD is having to play catch up for half, but again their prices are still more tame than Nvidia's, but to me that doesn't exactly balance the scales, because why go for something cheap that is also lacking? (this is why I chose PC in the end over consoles because I wanted the best options available to me, otherwise I would have stayed with consoles because of the "neat package").

I just see the dude semi stockholming himself, and I can almost guarantee you that he's going to wait it out for as long as possible and come back at us with "see, told ya it was the best choice". Like I'd want him to at least wait things out and see what happens, see a good possible switch-up, instead of everyone's typical "gonna dig my feet into this spot and not move because these benefits will come to me sooner or later".
